Working with Presets
In the Simba application, filter presets are predefined or custom-defined filters used to search for specific records that match a set of criteria. These filters are used in the Orders, Products, and Customers pages.
You can create preset filters, set the required filter conditions attributes, select the columns that you want to view, and/or sort the data in ascending or descending order. All the predefined and custom-defined preset filters are listed in the Filter drop-down list.
You can perform the following Preset actions:
- View existing presets
- Search based on Preset Filters
- Create a custom preset filter
- Update a custom preset filter
- Save an existing preset as a new preset
- Delete a custom preset
About Predefined and Custom Presets
In the Simba application, the following types of preset filters are available:
Predefined Filters: Predefined filters are already defined and listed in the Preset drop-down list. This cannot be modified or updated.
Custom Filters: Custom filters can be created as and when required as per your requirements.
View Existing Presets
You can view the predefined and custom presets in the Preset drop-down list.
Note: You cannot edit predefined filters.
To view predefined or custom preset,
- Log in to the Simba Application with valid credentials provided to you.
- Click Products in the left navigation panel. The All Products page is displayed.
- Click the Preset drop-down list. The predefined and custom preset are listed.
Search based on Preset Filters
You can search based on custom filters in the Preset drop-down list.
To search based on the custom filter, select the required filter from the Preset drop-down list. The data based on the filter is displayed. For example,
Create a Custom Preset Filter
You can create a custom preset. While creating a new preset, you can define one or more filter conditions, the columns that you want to view, and sort particular columns in ascending or descending order in the search result.
To create a custom filter preset,

- Log in to the Simba Application with valid credentials provided to you.
- Click one of the services in the left navigation panel. For example, Products. The All Products page is displayed.
- In the All Products page, click FILTER.
The FILTER tab is displayed.
- In the FILTER tab, specify the conditions for preset:
- Select the attribute from the Choose Attribute drop-down list. For example, brand, or product ID.
- Select any one of the following:
§ Equals – The value entered in step 4(c) must exactly match for the selected attribute (step
4(a)).§ Not Equals – The value entered in step 4(c) must NOT match for the selected attribute (step
4(a)).§ In – The values in a list of values (separated by comma) you specify in step 4(c) must match for the
selected attribute (step 4(a)).§ Not In – The values in a list of values (separated by comma) you specify in step 4(c) must NOT match
for the selected attribute (step 4(a)).- Enter the text for the selected attribute.
Note: This is optional.
- Repeat the above step to create more filter rules with the following conditions:
- AND
- OR
For more information, refer to AND/OR Logic in Filters.
- In the VIEW tab, select the required columns to be shown in the search result. This is optional.
Note:
· You cannot deselect the default columns.
· To reset to the default column view, click RESET DEFAULT TO VIEW.
· To search for a particular column name(s), enter the title of the column in the search text box.
· To change the order of the columns, drag by clicking on and place it where required. You can perform this for the default columns as well.
· To clear preset, click CLEAR UNSAVED PRESET.
· To view the filter in the listing page, click APPLY.
- In the SORT tab, select the data and enable the ascending or descending order toggle. This is optional.
Note:
· To set multiple sort criteria, click ADD A SORT button.
· To change the order of the sort criteria, drag by clicking on and place it where required.
- Click SAVE to save the preset filter.
Note:
· Click APPLY if you want the filter to be applied in the page instantly.
· Click CLEAR UNSAVED PRESET to clear the preset in the FILTER, VIEW, and/or SORT tabs.
This clears all the configurations that have been applied.
The New preset name pop-up is displayed.
- Enter a name for the preset in the Type preset name text box.
- Select the Set as default checkbox if you want the preset to be set as default under the Custom filter list.
- In the New preset name pop-up, click SAVE. The custom filter is saved.
Note: To ignore saving the preset, click CANCEL.
Update a Custom Preset
You can modify the existing attributes or conditions for the Preset using update preset functionality.
To update a Preset,
- Log in to the Simba Application with valid credentials provided to you.
- Click one of the services in the left navigation panel. For example, Products. The All Products page is displayed.
- In the Preset drop-down list, under the Custom section, click the Edit icon against the preset you want to update.
- In the FILTER pop-up, update the Filter, View, and/or Sort tabs as required.
- Select Set as default to set the filter to default under Custom if required.
- Click Update Preset.
The preset is updated.
Note:
· If you want the filter to be applied in the selected page instantly, click APPLY. In these pages, to save the filter you have created for later use, click SAVE
PRESET. Otherwise, click RESTORE to restore preset to view all the records, which is the default.
· To save the preset in another name, after making all necessary changes, click Save As New Preset.
· To delete the preset, click Delete Preset.
Save As a New Preset
To save time in creating a preset, you can modify or update an existing Preset and save it as a new Preset.
To save as a new Preset,
- In the Preset Filter drop-down list, select the custom preset and click the Edit icon.
The FILTER pop-up is displayed.
- Update the conditions as required.
- Click Save as New Preset.
Note:
· To update the current preset, click UPDATE PRESET.
· To delete the preset, click DELETE PRESET.
· To apply the changes to the preset in the listing page, click APPLY.
- In the New Preset Data dialog box, enter a Preset Name.
Note: Select the Set as default checkbox if you want the preset to be set as default under the Custom filter list. - Click SAVE. The preset is saved in a new preset name.
Delete a Custom Preset
You can delete a preset that you no longer require to use.
To delete a preset,
- In the Preset Filter drop-down list, identify the preset you want to delete.
- Click the Delete icon.
- In the Warning pop-up, click DELETE to confirm the deletion.
The selected preset is deleted.
Note: Alternatively, you can click delete a preset in the FILTER pop-up when you edit a preset.
Filter Attributes
In the FILTER tab, you can select attributes to filter data. You can filter based on preset attributes. For more information, refer to Create a Custom Preset Filter.
Choose Attribute
Select the attribute to specify the logical conditions using the FILTER operators.
For example, you can select name, brand, status, collectionId, and projectId.
AND/OR Logic in Filter
You can use the AND/OR logic to specify additional conditions for the filters.
● AND – logic when you want to include products that match all criteria.
● OR (currently not in UI) – logic when you want to identify products that match one of the criteria.
For example, you can select more than one attribute (Name and Category) using the AND operator.
Note: You can add more conditions for the filter using the operators.
Filter Operators
Once you select the attribute, you can select the operator from the Choose Operator drop-down list and specify the value for the attribute.
The following are the operators available in the FILTER tab:

Equals | The search result includes only products where the attribute equals the value in the filter. |
Equals Ignore Case |
The search result includes products where the attribute equals the value in the filter irrespective of the case. |
Greater than | The search result includes only records where the attribute is greater than the value in the filter. |
Lesser than | The search result includes only records where the attribute is lesser than the value in the filter. |
Greater than equal to |
The search result includes only records where the attribute is greater than equal to the value in the filter. |
Lesser than equal to |
The search result includes only records where the attribute is lesser than equal to the value in the filter. |
Like | The search result includes only records where the attribute matches the pattern value in the filter. |
Is Null | The search result includes only records where there is no attribute data in the column. |
Is Not Null | The search result includes only records where there is attribute data in the column. |
In | The search result includes products where the attribute is in the specified value. |
Not In | The search result includes products where the attribute is not in the specified value. |
Between | The search result includes only records where the attribute data is between the two values in the filter. |
Not Between | The search result includes only records where the attribute data is not between the two values in the filter. |
The following screen shows the operators in the FILTER tab:
View Selected Columns
You can create a custom view for the columns that you want to display in the All Products, All Customers, All Orders, and All Promotions page. You can use the VIEW option in the respective page to create a custom view.
To manage column views,
- Log in to the Simba Application with valid credentials provided to you.
- Click any of the services in the left navigation panel. For example, click Products. The All Products page is displayed.
- In the All Products page, click VIEW. The VIEW tab is displayed.
- Select the columns to display.
Note: To move the sequence of the fields, drag and drop the fields using the ellipsis. This will change the display order of the columns in the page.
Note: To reset the order of the fields, click RESET DEFAULT TO VIEW.
- Click SAVE.
Note: To view the display of the columns in the listing page, click APPLY.
The New preset name pop-up is displayed.
- Enter the name for the preset.
Note: Select the Set as default checkbox if you want the preset to be set as default under the Custom filter list. - Click SAVE. The view is saved as a preset.
Sort Data by Attributes
You can define preset sort options for the display of records in the search result.
To sort data by attributes,
- Log in to the Simba Application with valid credentials provided to you.
- Click any of the services in the left navigation panel. For example, Products. The All Products page is displayed.
- In the All Products page, click SORT.
- In the Sort tab, specify the Sort by conditions for the sorting of products.
Note: To add a Then By condition, click ADD A SORT. - Click SAVE.

- To clear preset, click CLEAR UNSAVED PRESET.
- To view the sorted columns in the listing page, click APPLY.
The New preset name pop-up is displayed.
- Enter the name for the preset.
- Click Save. The preset for sort is created successfully.
