State
Overview
A block can have any number of states. Each block has two states such as State One and Hidden State. The default state is State One which cannot be deleted. You can view the different states of a block using rules in the Simulate or Live mode of the project. For more details on simulating a project, refer to the section Hyper Personalization.

Creating a State
You can create a state for a block.
To create a state for a block,
- Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
- Open the required project or asset.
- Select the required block on a page. For example,
- Select the MASTER tab:
- Click the Add State button.
- In the pop-up, provide a state name:
- Click the Add State button.
A new state is created:
Deleting a State
You can delete a state from a block if it is no longer required.
Note: The default state cannot be deleted.
To delete a state from a block,
- Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
- Open the required project or asset.
- Select the required block on a page. For example,
- Select the MASTER tab:
- Click available next to the desired state to be deleted.
- Select Delete from the dropdown list.
- In the pop-up, click the confirm button:
The state is deleted.
Renaming a State
You can rename a state in a block.
To rename a state in a block,
- Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
- Open the required project or asset.
- Select the required block on a page. For example,
- Select the MASTER tab:
- Click available next to the desired state to be renamed.
- Select Rename from the dropdown list.
In the pop-up, provide a new state name:
- Click the Rename button.
The state is renamed.
Duplicating a State
You can duplicate an existing state in a block instead of creating it from scratch.
To duplicate a state in a block,
- Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
- Open the required project or asset.
- Select the required block on a page. For example,
- Select the MASTER tab:
- Click available next to the desired state to be duplicated.
- Select Duplicate from the dropdown list.

Setting a State as the Default State
You can set a state as the default state of a block.
This default state is applicable at the master level. Also, you can set the default state at the instance level. For more details, refer to the section Properties of a Block.
To set a state as the default state of a block,
- Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
- Open the required project or asset.
- Select the required block on a page. For example,
- Select the MASTER tab:
- Click available next to the desired state to be made as the default state.
- Select Set as Default from the dropdown list.
The state has been made as the default state:
