Project

Overview

A project represents a storefront site which consists of many pages. A project can be accessed by multiple teams.
With Projects, you can:

  • create a new storefront experience for a new store or an existing store.
  • create a new project with a new store with an empty blueprint or an existing blueprint.

Infosys Equinox Studio allows you to process the projects in a sequence of stages:

  1. Editor Stage or lower stage: This is the default stage. You can:
  2. Modelling Stage: This is the modelling stage. You can use the following options at the header as part of the modelling stage:
    • Publish: publish the project data to the demo and live sites from the modelling stage.
    • Preview: preview the project data in the demo and live sites from the modelling stage.
    • Promote to Review: promote the project to the review stage.
  3. Review Stage: This is the approval stage where you can review and publish the project data to a live demo and the actual live site. You can use the following options at the header as part of the review stage:
    • Preview: preview the project data in the demo and live sites from the review stage.
    • Publish to Live: publish the project only after which the project data is uploaded to the live site.
    • Live: publish the project data and redirects you to the live site. This is the final publish option.

A user can:

Viewing Projects

You can view the projects in the Infosys Equinox Studio dashboard.

To view the projects,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Select Projects from the dropdown list.

    The dashboard lists the existing projects.
  3. In the Projects dashboard, you can:
    • Sort: Sort the projects in ascending, descending, last created, or last modified order.
    • Search: Search for the projects using a search term and view the results in the List View format or Detail View format.

      Note:

      • To view the projects in the Detail View format, click
      • To view the projects in the List View format, click
    • View: View the various statuses of the existing projects.
      The following table describes the various statuses of the projects:

      Field Description
      Draft
      Indicates that the project is newly created. The content of the project is not yet drafted.
      Live
      Indicates that the project content is drafted. You can view the storefront site by clicking the Live button.
    • Open the editor: To open the Infosys Equinox Studio editor, click .
    • Open the live view: To open the live view of the storefront site, click .

Creating a New Project

You can create a new project to create:

  • a new storefront
  • a new storefront in an existing store
  • a new storefront for a new store

To create a new project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the New Project button:

    A pop-up appears:
  3. Select an option:
    • Option #1: to create just a storefront.
    • Option #2: to create a new storefront using an existing store.
      Note: Provide a store ID to identify the store. A variable called Storeid is created to store the store ID. For more information on variables, refer to Variable.
    • Option #3: to create a new storefront for a new store.
      Note: A store ID is created automatically to store the details in the StoreidFor more information on variables, refer to Variable.

    The Create New Project page is displayed:

  4. Enter the project details.
    Field Description
    Store Name Enter the name of the project.
    Blueprint Select the blueprint for the project that will serve as a template for the project.
    Note: The elements, variables, or datapoints of a blueprint can be accessed in the created project as per the Control Properties given in the blueprint. If you create a project using a blueprint with the easy config feature, you can configure the block using the easy config tab. For example,
    Store ID Enter the identifier of an existing store when creating a storefront using Option #2. The given store ID is stored in a variable called Storeid. For more information on variables, refer to Variable.
    Time zone Select a time zone for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Locale Select a locale for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Default Locale Select a default locale for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Shipping Regions Select the shipping regions for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Default Shipping Region Select a default shipping region for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Currency Select a currency for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    Default Currency Select a default currency for the store.
    Note: This is applicable when you select Option #3 while creating a store.
    upload a cover image Upload a cover image for the store.
  5. Click the Create New Store button.
    The project is created.

    The new project is created using Option #2 or Option #3, which displays both Commerce and Experience buttons:

    • Commerce: Click this to open the Store using the Simba credentials.
    • Experience: Click this to open the Project in the Studio.
    • Live: Click this to open the Project in a preview mode.

Opening/Viewing a Project

You can open/view a project using the Experience button.

To open/view a project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the EXPERIENCE button of the desired project:

Deleting a Project

You can delete a project that is no longer required.

To delete a project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of projects is displayed:
  2. Select of the desired project.
  3. Click Delete from the dropdown list:
  4. In the Delete Project pop-up, click the Confirm button:

    The project is deleted from the Projects list.

Rename a Project

You can rename a project.

To rename a project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of projects is displayed.
  2. Select of the desired project.
  3. Click Rename from the dropdown list:
  4. In the Rename project pop-up, update the project name:
  5. Click the Confirm button.
    The project is renamed.

Duplicating a Project

You can duplicate a project, which creates an exact copy of the existing project. While duplicating, you can choose to copy these settings in the duplicated project: Themes, Variables, Datapoints, Language Settings, People and Privileges, SEO and Analytics Configurations, Installed Apps, Hyper Personalization, and/or URL Routing Configurations. This saves development time.

To duplicate a project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of projects is displayed:
  2. Hover on and click against the desired project.
  3. Click Duplicate from the dropdown list:
  4. In the Duplicate Project pop-up, provide a new project name and select the required options such as Themes, Variables, Datapoints, Language Settings, People and Privileges, SEO and Analytics Configurations, Installed Apps, HyperPersonalization, and/or URL Routing Configurations:

    Note:

    • By default, the People and Privileges option is not selected.
    • Only the selected options are copied to the duplicated project.
  5. Click the Duplicate button.
  6. In the pop-up, click DONE:

    The project is duplicated.

Editing the Cover Image of the Project

You can edit the cover image of a project.
To edit the cover image of a project,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of projects is displayed:
  2. Hover on and click against the desired project.
  3. Click Edit Cover Image from the dropdown list:
  4. In the Change projects Cover Image pop-up, select a new cover image.
  5. Click CONFIRM.
    The cover image of the project is updated.

Converting a Project to a Blueprint

You can convert a project to a blueprint. The created blueprint can be used to create a project. This saves time and effort of creating a project from scratch.

To covert a project to a blueprint,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of projects is displayed:
  2. Select of the desired project.
  3. Click Convert to Blueprint from the dropdown list:

    The project is converted as a blueprint.

Importing an App from Agora Marketplace using the App Menu

You can install and import the required apps from the Agora dashboard into the projects so that you can associate an app with the project.

To import an app from Agora Marketplace using the App Menu,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with the valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the EXPERIENCE button against the desired project:

    Note: You can use the dropdown list on the header to select the landing page:

    The project is opened:
  3. Click the APPS icon in the left navigation panel.
  4. In the Agora dashboard, click on the required app and import it. For detailed information, refer to Importing an App from Agora.

Mapping an App from Agora to a Target Block

You can import an app from the Agora marketplace and associate it with a target block by configuring the app’s compatibility.

Prerequisite:

Ensure that you have imported the required app from Agora. For information, refer to Importing an App from Agora using the App Menu

To map an app from Agora to a target block,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with the valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the EXPERIENCE button against the desired project:
  3. In the project’s page, click on the SETTINGS icon and click METADATA.
  4. Click App Compatibility.
  5. In the App Compatibility page, click the Add App button.

    The following table describes the fields for configuring compatibility for an app.

    Field Name Description
    App Name #1 Indicates the name of the app. To select the required app,

    1. Click the App field.
    2. Select the app that you imported.
    Release Select the required release number from the dropdown list to associate it with the block. This option allows you to associate the latest or the previous releases of the app to a block.
    App Block ID In the App Block ID field, you can view the ID of the imported app.
    Note: To ensure, you can navigate to the import page of the app in the Agora and view the same ID. Refer to Importing Assets from Agora Marketplace.
    Target block Click the dropdown list and select the target block to map the app block ID to the target blocks.

    Note: The target blocks appear in the dropdown list only if you enable the block as a targetable block. For information on enabling a block as a target block, refer to the section Settings Tab.

Promoting a Project for Review

Once you complete the project creation, you can promote the project for review.

To promote a project for review,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with the valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the EXPERIENCE button against the desired project.

    Note: You can use the dropdown list on the header to select the landing page:

    The project is opened:
  3. Click the Publish dropdown arrow and select Promote to Review.

    The project data is promoted to the review stage, from where you can review and publish the project to the
    live state.

Promoting a Block from a Project as a Public-Block

You can promote the blocks that are within a project as the Public-Blocks of the workspace so that you can avoid the repetition of creating similar blocks in the project, which saves time and effort. The Promote to Public Block option appears only for the Blocks.

To promote a block from a project as a public block,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with the valid credentials provided to you.
  2. On the home page, click the dropdown list and select Projects.
  3. In the dashboard, click the EXPERIENCE button against the desired project.
  4. In the left navigation panel, ensure that you select the Block.
  5. In the right navigation panel, click and select Promote to Public Block from the dropdown list.

    The Block is promoted as Public-Block in the Workspace. For information on viewing the public blocks on the workspace, refer to Viewing the Agora Workspace.

Configuring App Compatibility for a Project

You can configure the compatibility of an app for a project to add the imported app from the Agora marketplace. You can associate an app with a target block within the project. For information, refer to Configuring App Compatibility for a Project.
