Blueprints

Overview

Blueprints are templates that can be used to create projects. Once published, the blueprint is used by the user to create a new project. It saves time and effort.

While creating a blueprint, the user can enable or disable the control properties of the elements, variables, or datapoints in a blueprint. So that it restricts the level of customization on the projects created using a blueprint. For example, the user is only allowed to edit the text of a text element.

Note: If you enable the toggle Link to test project while creating the blueprint, a test project is created automatically. For more details, see Creating a Blueprint.

Control Properties

The below table lists the control properties of all the elements used for configuring blueprints:

Property Element Description
SET STYLES All elements, Block Specifies whether the style changes are allowed or not.
SET ACTIONS All elements Specifies whether the action configurations are allowed or not.
SET TEXT Text, Button Specifies whether the user can set the text or not.
SET NAME Text, Button, Block Specifies whether the user can set the name or not.
SET ALT TEXT Image Specifies whether the user can set the alternate text of the image or not.
SET SOURCE Image Specifies whether the user can set the source of the image or not.
SHOW IN BUCKETS Block Specifies whether the user can see the blocks in the bucket or not. Hence, the user can reuse the block in the project.
SET VISIBILITY Layout Cell Specifies whether the user can set the visibility of the layout cell or not.
FIX POSITION Layout Cell Specifies whether the user can change the position of the layout cell or not. For example, the user is not allowed to change the position of the header and footer.
SET AS PUBLIC Variable, Datapoint Makes the datapoint or variable visible in the project created from the blueprint.
SET AS PRIVATE Variable, Datapoint Hides the variable or datapoint from the project created from the blueprint.
SET AS EDITABLE Variable, Datapoint Makes the variable or datapoint editable in the project created from the blueprint. This option is available only for public variables and datapoints.

Process Flow to convert a Blueprint into an Agora Asset

You can create Blueprints in the Blueprints dashboard and in the Agora workspace. You can also promote the blueprints from the Blueprint’s dashboard to the Agora workspace and import a blueprint from the Agora marketplace to the Blueprint dashboard.

The sequence to promote a blueprint to be an Agora Asset is as follows:

  1. Create a Blueprint: As a blueprint contributor, you can create a new blueprint in the blueprint section which does not require blueprint specifications within them.
    Note:
    • You can publish the blueprint from the blueprints section for the other users to use in their new projects.
    • People and privileges details of the blueprint are not promoted to the workspace.
  2. Promote a Blueprint to Workspace: As a blueprint contributor, you can promote the blueprint to the Workspace for publishing it to Agora.
  3. View a Blueprint in the Agora Workspace: As a blueprint contributor, it is mandatory to add blueprint specifications to a blueprint.
  4. Submit a blueprint to Agora: As a blueprint contributor, submit the blueprint to Agora for the Agora approval process.
  5. View the Notifications: As a reviewer, you can view the notifications for the blueprint review.
  6. Agora Approval Flow: As a reviewer, you can approve the blueprint in the Agora Approval Dashboard, after which it is published to the Agora marketplace.
    Note: You can import a blueprint from Agora and use it for further requirements. See Importing a Blueprint from Agora.

Creating a Blueprint

You can create a blueprint for the project based on blueprint types.

To create a blueprint,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Select the Blueprints option from the dropdown list.
  3. Click the New Blueprint button.
  4. In the pop-up, provide a blueprint name, select a blueprint type, and enable the Link to Test Project toggle to create a test project after publishing the blueprint:

Opening/Viewing a Blueprint

You can open/view a blueprint.

To open/view a blueprint,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Select the BLUEPRINTS option from the dropdown list.
  3. Click the EXPERIENCE button on the desired blueprint.

    Note: You can click available at the top-left corner to view all the blueprints.

Publishing a Blueprint

You can publish a blueprint using the Publish option. Once published, the blueprint is available for the other user to create a new project.

To publish a blueprint,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Open the required blueprint.
  3. Build the blueprint by making the required changes:
  4. Select the Publish button at the top-right corner:

    The blueprint is published.

Converting a Project as a Blueprint

You can convert a project into a blueprint.

To convert a project into a blueprint,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
    The list of blueprints is displayed.
  2. Select of the desired project.
  3. Click the Convert to Blueprint option:

    The project is converted as a blueprint and available under the WORKSPACE: BLUEPRINTS option.

Promoting a Blueprint to the Workspace

You can promote the blueprint to the Agora workspace, which converts the blueprint into an Agora asset.

To convert a blueprint into an Agora asset,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Select the Blueprint option from the dropdown list.
  3. In the dashboard, click the EXPERIENCE button of the desired blueprint.
  4. Click the Promote to Workspace button.
  5. The promoted blueprint appears in the Workspace dashboard with the Draft status.

Promoting a Block from a Blueprint to Workspace

You can move a required block from a blueprint to the Public-Block of Agora workspace so that you can avoid the repetition of creating a similar block in the Agora workspace which saves time and effort. This allows you to reuse this block in your workspace without the need to create a new block from scratch.

To promote blocks from the blueprint to the public block of workspace,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. On the home page, select Blueprint to promote the blocks from the Blueprints.
  3. In the dashboard, click the EXPERIENCE button of the desired blueprint.
  4. In the left navigation panel, ensure that you select a block.
  5. In the right navigation panel, click and select Promote to Public Block.

    Note: The Promote to Public Block option appears only for the blocks.
    The block is promoted as Public-Block in the Workspace. For information on viewing the public blocks on the workspace, refer to Viewing the Agora Workspace.

Importing an App from Agora using the App Menu

You can install and import the required apps from the Agora dashboard into the blueprint to associate the app from Agora to a blueprint template.

To import an app using the App menu,

  1. Log in to the Infosys Equinox Studio environment with valid credentials provided to you.
  2. Click the EXPERIENCE button of the desired project:
  3. On the blueprint’s page, click on the APPS option.
  4. In the Agora dashboard, click on the required App and import it. For detailed information, refer to the Importing an App from Agora section.

Configuring App Compatibility for a Blueprint

You can configure the compatibility of an app for a blueprint template to add the imported app from the Agora marketplace. You can also configure the app compatibility for a blueprint to add an app from the Agora marketplace in the required blueprint template. You can associate the app with the target block within the blueprint. For information, refer to Configuring App Compatibility for a Blueprint.
